Welcome to the Thompson Valley High School Counseling Department. The counselors at Thompson Valley are here to support the academic, personal/social, and career needs of all students. College Information
- Senior Time Line
This is a list of important tasks, events and dates that seniors should familiarize themselves with.
- College in Colorado Website
This free, comprehensive Website dedicated to providing students with everything they need to know about career exploration and planning, selecting high school courses, choosing and applying to colleges, obtaining financial aid and getting ready to take the SAT or ACT tests.
Financial Aid Information
- Tuition Funding Sources
This website maintains a scholarship database totaling over $32 billion in scholarship opportunities. TVHS students have free access to this website.
- WUE - Western Undergraduate Exchange
Students who are residents of WICHE states may enroll at participating two- and four-year college programs outside of their home state at a reduced tuition rate.
- FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid
All students should plan on filling out the FAFSA online. Students cannot begin completing the FAFSA until January 1st of their senior year. Seniors can apply for a PIN prior to January, so they can complete the application online.
- Student Aid on the Web - This website is maintained by the U.S. Department of Education. This is your source for free information on funding your education beyond high school.
Testing and Test Prep
- CSAP's will be given to all 9th and 10th grade students March 8th through March 11th.
- The Colorado ACT will be given to all 11th grade students on April 28, 2010. For more information on preparing for the ACT, please visit www.actstudent.org.
- AP Testing will take place May 3rd through May 14th. For more information, please see Mrs. Knittel in the counseling office and visit www.collegeboard.com.
